In Sarajevo’s beautiful City Hall, the third annual Austrian Ball was held, meaning that three years ago Sarajevo became one of the world cities where this ball is held.
The event started with a parade on the red carpet in front of the City Hall. The mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, addressed the guests, as did the current ambassador of Austria to B&H, Ulrike Hartmann. A fanfare announced the beginning of the glamorous musical and dancing part of the evening.
Women in white ball gowns and men in dress suits, as befits a ball, danced the waltz in the main dancing hall. Visitors enjoyed the other dances and entertainment as well in the other five dance halls, until the early morning hours.
Members of dance club “Aster“ opened the Austrian Ball and renowned artists, such as Sonja Šarić and Wilfried Zelinka from the Graz City Opera made it complete, as well as Robert Werner, the famous pianist and entertainer from Vienna.
In the last two years, the Austrian Ball in Sarajevo has gathered close to 500 participants, cultural workers and artists from both countries. Over 3,000 visitors enjoyed the music, dancing and performances by top artists.
