In the early hours of the morning, the first tramways start to leave the main garage, bakers start to bake, the main market place opens, the alarms go off at people’s homes… That is the way the day typically starts around here, the same way it starts in any other city, with one exception, perhaps: in downtown Sarajevo, people get together early in the morning. They meet up over a cup of coffee for a chit-chat session and to read the news online. This is what they do both in winter and in summer. People simply do not let anything get in the way of their morning rituals before they to go about with their business routine. This is why Sarajevo has always been famed as a city where people establish strong social ties and why they crave to share time with each other.
