James Blood Ulmer takes us through time, back to the Mississippi delta, and as far as forward, into the world of free jazz improvisation.

This American blues and jazz guitarist and vocalist, transcends genres and generations; he is avant-garde but at the same time committed to the tradition. Former associate of Art Blakey and Ornette Coleman, but also of John Zorn, Ulmer has a timeless personality that does not cease to thrill even after several decades of his work.
